Interesting Facts about Dubai Frame
Here are some cool facts about Dubai Frame that will make you want to visit it sooner.
- Like everything else in Dubai, the Frame is an engineering marvel designed to resemble a giant picture frame that is 150 meters tall and 93 meters wide. Officially, the FRAME in Dubai is the largest picture frame in the world.
- The Frame is designed according to the famous Golden Ratio, or the Divine Proportion. Historically, the Golden Ratio has been used to construct several architectural landmarks, including the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, the Taj Mahal in India, and the Parthenon in Greece. Leonardo da Vinci used the divine proportion in many paintings, including the renowned Mona Lisa.
- The Dubai Frame elevator takes you up to the Sky Deck at an astonishing speed of 48 floors in just 7 seconds.
- From the Dubai Frame Sky Deck, you can view Old Dubai to the north and New Dubai to the south simultaneously. This is a great place to try and recognize some of your favorite Dubai landmarks, such as the Burj Khalifa.
- Once on top, you can walk on the Glass Walkway to get a unique perspective of the city below. Do not try this if you have a fear of heights—it can be really scary!
- Be sure to look up at the ceiling. Do you see flowing sand or falcon feathers? Everything at the Dubai Frame represents a bit of Emirati culture.

The Frame is located in Dubai’s Zabeel Park. The park offers a great view of the structure and allows you to take several fantastic shots of the Frame.
Check out these cool photo spots in Zabeel Park – Free Dubai Frame Photo Opportunity (Google Maps), Zabeel Park Fountain (Google Maps), and Emma’s Garden (Google Maps).
As you approach the structure, you’ll have more opportunities to take close-up shots of the architecture and the golden panels. This is also when I really valued the 0.5x feature on my iPhone, which allowed me to take wide-angle pictures of Dubai Frame.
You can also take fantastic pictures of the Frame outside the park from the sidewalk. As you exit the Frame, take a right and walk on the sidewalk until you reach the perfect framing location like this. Spring is the ideal time to get these shots because the sidewalks are all lined with beautiful flowers.
The best part is that getting these incredible Dubai Frame pictures is absolutely free. You have to pay to get inside the Frame, but if you only want the structure’s photos, that is free!
Inside Dubai Frame
The interior is divided into 3 different sections, each offering a unique perspective on Dubai’s past, present, and future.
Old Dubai Gallery
The ground floor features a museum dedicated to Dubai’s history, the Old Dubai Gallery.
Here, you can learn about the city’s evolution from a tiny fishing village to a global metropolis and Dubai’s culture and heritage.

Observation Deck & Glass Skywalk
Next, take the elevator and arrive at the Observation Deck, which offers stunning views of Dubai.
To the north, you’ll see Old Dubai, its traditional souks, heritage museums, and bustling creek. This area is in stark contrast to the modern skyscrapers and luxurious hotels of New Dubai, which are visible to the south.
The Observation Deck is the best place to get some excellent photographs of Dubai from above.
It also features a glass skywalk that you can walk upon and see the world below. The glass panels freeze when no one is walking on them and become transparent when you start walking on them. Honestly, it can be a little scary when you step on it. Don’t do this if you are scared of heights.
Future Dubai Gallery
Once you exit the Observation Deck, you’ll come to the Future Dubai Gallery, which gives you a glimpse of what Dubai will look like in the future.
This gallery uses augmented reality inside a tunnel and creates engaging visuals of a futuristic Dubai. You are not allowed to click pictures in some parts of this section.
After you exit the Future Dubai Gallery, you’ll come across a small souvenir store where you can buy quintessential Dubai gifts such as sand art and skyscraper models.
